Trans Pride Scotland is committed to ensuring our events are a safe space for all attendees. As part of this commitment, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event due to be held on 28/03/2020; due to our rising concerns about Coronavirus. With the recent spike in Covid-19 (Coronavirus) cases in Scotland (36 cases), it would be irresponsible of us to ignore the potential risks for transmission that could arise from facilitating this public event.
We are deeply disappointed and very sorry about any inconvenience this may cause, and we hope you can understand our reasoning. We express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has assisted us with planning over the past couple of months. Trans Pride Scotland would not be possible without the help of our volunteers and partner organisations. We would like to thank all of those who applied to be stewards; to host stalls; and lead workshops. We would also like to thank those at UWS Students’ Union, SheBoom, and Renfrewshire Council. We will have more updates in the future for any plans we have moving forward.
